"We want Knapper out, we want Knapper out"
"Sack the board, sack the board, sack the board"
"You're not fit, you're not fit, you're not fit to wear the shirt".
Dear oh dear. A 7th straight home league defeat.
The first half didn't look too bad. Makama was strong and solid, and he was being barged into and pulled down all game. Schlupp was pinging crosses in every 5 minutes and hit the bar. The performance was better. I mean the bar was low, but it was better. We had shots saved, we had some opportunities. We could have been 3-0 up at half time.
The protest against the now postponed stadium redevelopment plans was absolutely tinpot and an embarrassment with only five or so tennis balls being thrown onto the pitch at the 19:02 mark. Probably not worth it now that those fans may have their season tickets revoked.
And then half time happened, and whatever Liam Manning says at half time happened. And sure enough, on 49 minutes, we concede. The second came on 87 minutes at which point half the ground walked out.
At the final whistle, Manning was straight down the tunnel, and the chants from the Barclay continued. Kenny McLean looked crestfallen as he stood and faced the fans as they chanted "you're not fit to wear the shirt". It was the most toxic it's been this season. Even when I came out of Morrisons there were still chants from outside the ground.
I was against sacking the manager, and I still don't think it's all on him, but this can't continue. We'll be in League One by Christmas. The entire board and coaching staff have to go, Ben Knapper especially. He's out of his depth and ultimately this is on him.
The next game is against Sheffield Wednesday (on Wednesday) who are the only club below us and are in administration. If we lose to them, I dread to think what will happen next.
